Show Lambs
I have a small flock of club lamb type ewes and market them to area FFA and 4-H members at a low cost. I have various bloodlines from some of the best breeders in the country including Skidgel, Ott, Nathan, Rule, Stillwell, Dee Brothers and Scott Alexander.
A Buck Used In 2019 and 2020 is “Rumble”, co-owned with Skidgel Club Lambs. Rumble is out of NO Regrets and Hot Karl’s twin sister! Rumble spent a semester at Oklahoma State University getting his education before going to use here. So, I am a graduate, and all three girls are graduates of Oklahoma State, and so is Rumble! Go Pokes!
I recently purchased two bred ewes from Ott Club Lambs, a yearling ewe out of Flex and bred to “The Bull” and a yearling Dorset ewe bred to “Ajax”. Both due in January 2021.
I am so proud of my first bred ewe purchase from Scott Alexander and she is the matriarch of so many of our home-grown ewes and she is still producing! She still looks like she could walk in a show ring today. Her name is Colby.
I purchased ewe lambs from Justin Nathan (Gracie) and Tyson Rule (Phoebe) and they raised my best two ewe lambs in 2020. My herd manager, Reid Caldwell owns one of them and she has been Champion Shrop a couple of times already.
Jet was a Dee Brothers purchase as an April lamb, so it took awhile for me to see some return on investment, but she produced the silver hided lamb pictured below. Jet is a visitor favorite because no one around here has a Natural sheep as black pelted as she is.
2020 Keeper Ewe Lambs have been sold with reservation for me to purchase them back from the FFA members currently caring for them. Several have placed well in fall shows and great things are expected this spring! One wether lamb was Reserve Grand in Seminole County Oklahoma this fall. He is a great one!
2019 was good to us, as we had a family in Guthrie purchase twins and they both qualified for their Premium Sale last spring in Logan County, Oklahoma. In addition, we purchased Natasha back from the Shaefer Family and placed her into production. She had a great ewe lamb that Jenks FFA is showing. Natasha goes back to Natalie, who was a bred ewe purchase from Justin Nathan and came bred to Bravo.
These are some yearling ewes sired by my buck owned with Brian Skidgel. He creates this feminine look and stylish profiles that I like to see when I go to the barn. Lambs bred like these available toward the end of April.
